Wilderness

“At a first glance, the term ‘Wilderness’ has a deceptive concreteness” (R. Nash). This theme explores the character, evolution and future of the remaining regions on the planet that are less influenced by humanity. Examples include mapping all the inviolate areas in Antarctica, published in Nature.
